Saving Eutychus will help you save your listeners from such a fate. Written by an Aussie and an Irishman with very different styles who share a passion for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, Saving Eutychus delivers fresh, honest, faithful and practical insights into preaching the whole word of God, Sunday by Sunday, without being dull.

"This book deserves to be included in the ‘must read’ category for preachers… When my congregation asks me to explain the improvement in my preaching, I will ask, “Have you read the one by the Irishman and the Aussie?” - Alistair Begg, Senior Pastor, Parkside Church, Cleveland, Ohio
Price:US$ 16.99

Our world today overflows with ideas and misunderstandings about Jesus. Who was he, really? What did he think about himself? How can we get at the truth about him today, 2000 years later? When Michael Bennett took the first steps towards full-time, ordained Christian ministry, he dreaded being asked whether he 'felt called'. Because in all honesty, he didn't.

Many years later, and after extensive biblical research, he came to the conclusion that the common idea of needing to feel a subjective call from God before entering the ministry is misguided and unbiblical. In Do You Feel Called by God? he shares his story, including the evidence that changed his mind.

Full of wit, personal biography and clear biblical teaching, Do You Feel Called by God? provides an encouraging challenge not only to those considering full-time ministry, but also to all Christians who want to hear and respond to the call of God.

About the author:
Michael Bennett trained as an architect in Brisbane, Australia, before becoming a believing Christian at the age of 24. When the New Testament describes what it means to be a Christian, it uses a phrase that is everywhere in Paul's letters but almost nowhere in our churches. Overwhelmingly, when the Bible wants to describe being a Christian, it says that we are in Christ.

But what does it mean to be in Christ? And how does this important biblical idea help us understand what God has done for us through Jesus, and what it means to be a Christian?

This short book by Rory Shiner sparkles with clarity, wit and biblical wisdom on this vital and much-neglected topic.

This book is part of our Guidebooks for Life series. Like other titles in the series, it covers an important issue of the Christian life in an accessible and straightforward way.

A young boy in the confessional lies about his sin, knowing that he is choosing hell over shame and embarrassment. A young man in spiritual distress decides to become a priest so he can be sure he will go to heaven. A white leather Bible sits in a box on a shelf for years, off limits to the little girl who asks to see it, because it might get dirty. "Just do what I say," a priest tells another boy who is full of questions about God, "and everything will be okay".

In every one of these situations God transformed people by his word in the Bible, replaced lies with truth, and brought peace through the salvation that is only found in Jesus Christ. This is a book with not one but 11 happy endings.

The 11 individuals who share their stories of Stepping Out in Faith could not be more different. They are men and women from different generations and from around the world. But they have in common the peace they have found in God through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Each week, Phillip and Kel chat about the Bible's teaching on everything from repentance to racism, from prayer to politics.

In this special Chat Room Collection, each 'chat' has been divided into sections for you to watch and then discuss with the help of Bible passages, questions, and group activities. (These can be printed off from PDFs found on the DVD.) Each study begins with an opening question to get you thinking and talking about the topic. Following that, you'll find a mix of video material and questions. Some questions help you summarize what Kel and Phillip say in the Chat Room; others direct you to relevant Bible verses so you can read God's word for yourselves; others help you tease out the implications of God's word.

You should be able to complete each study in around 60 minutes, but if you're running short of time then you can skip some or all of the 'Chat further' questions. These questions are designed to help you think further on the topic (especially about the implications arising from God's word to us), but they're separated out so you can skip them if you need to without losing the flow of the logic in the study.

You can work your way through all 6 of the studies over consecutive weeks, but each topic works just as well as a stand-alone study. This may be useful when you want to do something different for a week or two in your Bible study group.

Topics covered: prayer, evangelism; Christian growth; materialism; applying the Bible; spiritual things.

Is abortion ever right? Can divorced Christians remarry? What about euthanasia? In a whole range of issues, Christians search for the biblical answer.

But ethics is about far more than controversial issues and hard cases. It's about how we apply the teaching of the Bible to our lives each day as we wait for Christ's return; it's about our actions and our motives; it's about our character.

In this vibrant, stimulating and much-needed book, Michael Hill introduces us to an evangelical approach to ethics. Starting from creation, and taking us through the whole of biblical theology, the author develops a simple and yet comprehensive model of gospel-based ethics. In so doing, he provides us not just with solutions to difficult cases, but with an ethical framework we can bring to every aspect of our lives.

Download a free study guide for The How and Why of Love by clicking here
Price:US$ 9.99

To start at the very beginning, as the song says, is a very good place to start. This is true of the Bible as well. The opening chapters of Genesis lay down some massive foundation stones for all that God proceeds to do in our world, culminating in Jesus Christ.

Beginning with God takes you on a journey through these momentous chapters, pausing to look at creation, the role of humanity in the world, the fall, the spread of sin, the flood and the tower of Babel. The final study focuses on Abraham, the man God chose to begin his great plan of salvation for the world.

About Pathway Bible Guides
This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides. As Moses exhorts Israel to live faithfully, we discover rich and practical insights about what the God we serve is like, what it means to live his way, the nature of worship, and God's view on leadership.

Most importantly, Paul Barker points us to the difference that Jesus has made, enabling Christians to respond to God more faithfully than Israel did.

About Pathway Bible Guides
This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides. This series aims to provide simple, straightforward Bible study material for:

» Christians who are new to studying the Bible (perhaps because they've been recently converted or because they have joined a Bible study group for the first time)
» Christians who find other studies (such as the Interactive Bible Studies) too much of a stretch
» groups with limited time for study.

Accordingly, we've designed the studies to be short, straightforward and easy to use, with an uncomplicated vocabulary. Like Daniel and his friends, captive in Babylon, Christians live as strangers and exiles in this world. We are different. We stand out because we trust in God's wisdom, not the wisdom of this world; we trust in God's forgiveness, in the face of our own evil and the evil of this world; and we trust in God's eternal kingdom rather than the passing rulers and authorities who dominate worldly politics.

In the book of Daniel, we find rich teaching and encouragement to keep seeing things God's way in a world that is determined to go its own way.

About Pathway Bible Guides
This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides. How can we know Jesus? The best way is by checking eyewitness accounts. This simple guide to chapters 8-12 of Matthew's Gospel does just that, introducing us to the early years of Jesus' public ministry. Jesus is revealed as a man of authority and compassion—yet not just a man, for he speaks and acts with the power of God. Follow Jesus from fear to freedom.

About Pathway Bible Guides
This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides. Being a disciple of Jesus has never been a walk in the park. It's more often a long, dusty, difficult road, with plenty of sweat and suffering. That's the road, after all, that Jesus himself walked, as he headed south from Galilee to Jerusalem to face the cross.

Following Jesus walks with Jesus on the road to Jerusalem in Luke 9-12, and learns with his disciples what following him really means. It means that nothing in our lives will ever be the same again, because we have said 'no' to ourselves and 'yes' to Jesus as our Lord and King.

About Pathway Bible Guides
This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides. In a world where strife, stress and violence abound, the idea of peace seems far away. And yet, one of the key ideas of Romans is that we can find peace, even peace with God.

And the way to peace? There is only one way to peace; and that is through trusting in the work of Jesus.

This simple study takes us through the key passages in the letter in nine studies, and shows us the great saving power of the God in whom we trust.

Newcomers to Romans will have the entire scope of the book laid out before them, with the key landmarks shown in depth and clarity. And those who are more familiar with Romans will find these studies a refreshing look at the gospel that brings us peace with God.

About Pathway Bible Guides
This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides. The church at Corinth was hardly a model church. Preoccupied with all sorts of matters that led these early Christians astray, it is easy to see why Paul is matter-of-fact, rebuking and correcting them in his letter. However, the church at Corinth was God's church, and that, as Paul reminds the Corinthians, is why it matters to God very much indeed.

In these studies on 1 Corinthians 1-7, we will learn to see church the way that God sees church, and why, therefore, church matters.

Read a review here.

About Pathway Bible Guides
This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides. Standing firm means sticking with Jesus, come what may. It means continually returning to the message of hope and salvation that comes through the cross.

But of course, it doesn't mean standing still—God's great plan is to make us holy and blameless, ready for the Lord's return.

These simple studies help us unpack this vital aspect of the Christian life through Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians. Like the Thessalonians, we're challenged to stand firm in the gospel while being thoroughly changed by it.

For further help in understanding 1 Thessalonians, see Genuine Imitation.

About Pathway Bible Guides
This Bible study resource is part of our series of Pathway Bible Guides.
